Jean was an incredibly driving instructor for my son. So professional, patient and kind. She genuinely cares about her pupils and is unbelievably supportive. I would recommend her to anyone wanting to learn to drive!!

I would have not been in such a good position for my driving test without Jean. Through her intensive I went from not having driven a manual car before to passing in about a month. I had lessons when I was 18, 10 hours and I hadn’t switched gears!! Now at 23 I thought about learning again, this time I went with Kent Intensive Driving School, and I was still so nervous, luckily I had Pete, he was calm and taught me in a way I could understand making steady progression over our 40 hours together, even today when I did the test I was nervous but he had utmost confidence in me. I’m very lucky to have had Pete, and I am so happy I chose Kent Intensive Driving School.

I had weekly lessons in my late teens and again in late twenties, and both times got stuck at “almost ready” for months on end. Finally, Paul McKenzie has sorted me out in ONE WEEK! A FIRST TIME PASS with only 2 minors!

A phemonenal instructor, such a lovely guy, a terrific mentor. Wonderful approach to teaching. He kept the lessons relaxed but concise, we covered so much depth in such a short space of time. He’ll whip you into shape without you even realising.

Before driving with Jean I had 4 majors in a driving test.

After this I booked a 15 hour intensive course and Jean fixed all issues and I passed within a week of learning with her.

I cannot recommend her enough for anyone struggling to get test ready, with help from both the driving standards but also the mental barriers making it much easier to learn.

Jean has taken both my sons for intensive driving courses. They had both failed twice with other instructors. Jean is clearly able to teach what is needed to pass and she knows all the possible test routes. They both passed after her tuition and I am extremely grateful to her.

I cannot begin to thank Jean enough for coming to my sons rescue after two different driving instructors had to stop teaching Joe for various reasons. Jean kindly fitted Joe into her busy schedule to get him through to his test .

I had been driving for almost 4 years and as I was part of the covid cohort really struggled to get a test, but by booking an intensive with pete who is a calm, funny and brilliant driving instructor, over three days I was able to pass my test with ease. I am extremely grateful to pete!

I completed an intensive driving course with Jean and she was excellent. She was an effective teacher, always calm and and composed and happy to talk through areas I was finding difficult so I could make improvements. It was really useful that she was flexible with the test slot so I could do it at the right time for me, and with rearranging lesson times so I could make the most out of every lesson I had. We progressed at just the right rate, fast enough to keep challenging me in new situations but not so fast for it to be overwhelming. She was also very patient with me, and achieved a good balance of telling me what mistakes I was making without being too overbearing. Her knowledge of local roads and test routes was also invaluable.

I did my intensive course with Paul. He is an amazing instructor and has a huge amount of experience, which made me feel like I was in safe hands. Paul gave me very good feedback in terms of when I was doing well, but also what I needed to improve. I’d never driven a car before and Paul took me from a complete beginner to a confident driver who past first time after 35 hours of intensive driving. I have no hesitation in recommending Paul and wish him good luck with his future students.

Jean at Kent Intensive Driving School has been amazing. After failing a test previously with another instructor, I was very nervous to drive again. Jean, however, taught me the importance of perseverance and staying positive- in less than a week I had built my confidence on the roads hugely! Jean is an truly amazing teacher, she understood what my goals were and did everything she could to ensure I passed my test, and what a feeling it was to pass today. I failed my first test due to nerves and silly mistakes but she encouraged me to go again and said I could do it and I did, could not recommend her enough! What a team at Kent Intensive Driving School! I had manual lessons 10 years ago and couldn’t quite get the gear maneuvers so gave up. I decided to take up an automatic 20 hour course with Alison starting on a bank holiday weekend. Calm was her approach and attention to detail. Really made me feel comfortable and explained things in a way that my 9 week old daughter could understand! Unfotunatly Alison had to attend a family emergency so couldn’t make it on test date but like the professional that she is, arranged for Pete to take over 2 hours before the test. Another outstanding instructor who also helped me prepare for what was to come. I passed first time with 4 minors and can’t thank Alison and Pete enough. Over the moon! Thank you, guys!

Can’t recommend Jean enough. When I first started lessons I knew literally nothing about driving and was ridiculously nervous, Jean made me feel so comfortable and was so patient with me, even when it took many many tries to fix certain issues! When I first sat in the car with Pete, I was a complete bag of nerves! With his patience and wisdom, he soon managed to calm those nerves and turned me into a calm and much more relaxed driver with a 30hour course. Highly recommend this driving school! I’ve tried hourly lessons before but it’s easy to forget things when there’s a gap between them, and it sometimes felt like a rush to cram everything into each lesson. My instructor Alison was amazing – really knows her stuff, explained everything super clearly, and was very reassuring when I was anxious about driving. She made manoeuvres click when I’d struggled to get my head around them before. I did a 1 hour assessment lesson before booking a course and actually needed fewer hours than I expected. Well worth it!

I could not have asked for a better driving instructor than Jean. She was so incredibly kind and patient. I tried learning to drive a manual at first, I really didn’t enjoy it and it put me off driving completely. Jean suggested I try automatic and helped to massively restore my confidence and find the joy in driving again. After one week of driving of an automatic car I passed my test first time.

Jean took on our daughter Rachel and spent quality time with her to unlock some of the personal barriers she was facing. Even after the first lesson Rachel said that Jean was great and really settled in with her. It took a few tests but Jean was always so positive and determined to work with Rachel. Pete was an amazing instructor, managed to iron out all my bad habits in less than a week with some extra time to get my manoeuvres perfect. Great bloke, can have laugh with him and I highly recommend Kent Intensive Driving School having used a few other schools myself. None of them come close in comparison to Kent Intensive.

I had just over a month to learn how to drive an automatic, and for someone who had barely any driving experience, it was scary and intimidating from lesson 1 all the way to my last lesson. However, even if you don’t believe in yourself, your instructor will and will always be truthful with you and will push you to do your best! I honestly thought that with my extreme anxiety over driving I wasn’t going to pass, and no matter how many lessons I had I thought I would never be ready, but turns out all I needed was to trust in myself, keep on telling myself I can do it, and with the mistakes I had to – understand what I done, reflect on it, learn from it, and move on. If you’re like me don’t over think it! Trust yourself and your driver and be safe! I recommend this course to any and everyone and also recommend my instructor Alison as well as Mo for helping me pass 1st time 1 minor.

I had a really positive experience doing my intensive with Kent Intensive. I’d done lots of driving before but never gotten round to doing a test, and after a couple of years away from driving I was incredibly nervous and had no confidence, so I knew that an intensive was the best way for me to get up to speed. I had a brilliant experience with Alison, who was patient, thorough and encouraging, and thanks to her I was able to pass first time with one driving fault. I was so pleased that the course wasn’t as full on as I was expecting, as I had a series of 4 hour lessons over about a week with some days off, which i was grateful for as learning can be exhausting. Overall a brilliant experience and I’m so pleased to finally have those P plates!

Alison is a very experienced instructor, she gave accurate and precise advice on my driving style, that let me to have a great improvement within two weeks.

I worked with Alison initially on a short intensive course and then on a weekly lesson. Alison was friendly and made me feel very comfortable at all times. She explained things to me in a calm and patient way and was always happy for me to guide the lessons depending on what I felt I needed to focus on. On the day of my test Alison prioritised the areas I was nervous about in our lesson beforehand but was very reassuring when it came to making me feel ready. After struggling with one day a week lessons i decided to do an intensive course and contacted this driving school. With in a day or two i was contacted by jean and almost immediately i had my assessment, test and lessons booked. With Jean the lessons were very effective as well as chilled and layed back as each 4 hour lessons went fairly quickly. I learned everything I needed to know and practiced it all within the total of 20 hours of lessons that jean had decided for me. He particularly helped to boost my confidence whilst driving and always gave valuable feedback which massively increased my ability to drive! He is really easy to get along with and a great laugh. I am so grateful for the support and dedication that Jean gave to my lessons. An intensive course was definitely the best route for me to take as I had been learning to drive on and off for the past couple of years!! Jean was determined to get me through my test, and gave me back my confidence to pass within just a week. Although I did my lessons in my car without dual control, Jean was still calm and showed confidence in my driving which made me 10x more relaxed. I was in the right spot of bother in July. I had been let down by my previous course provider and had been given a short deadline by my new employer to have my license sorted otherwise I would have been without a job!
Thanks to the work of both Jean and Gavin, they helped me go from having no driving experience in July to passing the first time in September with only 4 faults after 27 hours of driving.
Between the pair of them, they rearranged their schedules to accommodate my needs, and the blend of teaching styles they provided helped me develop my skills exponentially.

Jean Pankhurst is the most wonderful driving instructor that my son had the privilege of learning to drive with and passed his test first time today! She is caring, supportive, made him feel at ease throughout each and every lesson and ensured he understood the importance of becoming a safe driver. She was patient throughout, calm and reassuring, but at the same time has a respectful, assertive manner when needed to ensure constant safety.

Jean utilises a whole variety of roads to build a drivers confidence, gradually building up to more testing routes.

Jean is fully committed and passionate about her work and linked in with us as parents, to ensure that any practice we did with our son was relevant and suitable.

I just had my successful driving test with a few minors, for the first try! I always thought that I will never be able to drive because I was really afraid and I always thought it is just too complicated. But I had a baby and I decided to look for a flexible and patient instructor. It was during Covid, I had a newborn so it wasn’t easy to find someone great. For me, the communication part was also important as English is not my first language and I needed someone whom with we can easily understand each other, on every level. For my biggest surprise, I found Alison (actually she found me), who exceeded all my expectations and I could finally stop worrying about everything and just focus actually on how enjoyable driving is. For my (and my family’s) biggest surprise my doubts and fears were completely gone, even after our first lesson! With her help, I could easily learn the basics and then everything. She is patient, flexible, explaining and communicating easily and you can feel that even when she has basically no more time or capacity, her pupils are extremely important for her! I am really thankful to her for teaching me how to be a safe and (not too) cautios driver!:) The lessons was fun and we could always plan ahead, even when we had to reschedule, which was really comforting for me. It was even better that we share our excitement for our other hobbies, so it didn’t feel like a lesson at all!:) I still can’t really believe that I arrived to this point with her help. Nearly after every lesson I told her “I still love driving”, and I am certain that after being on the roads for years, I will still be saying this – next to her clever road mantras, which are extremely helpful:) Thank you Alison for all the great time, talks and laughs, I couldn’t even wished for a better instructor!

Alison is an amazing instructor. I had been driving for over 9 years and needed a UK driver’s licence but had picked up a lot of bad driving habits! Alison was super patient, calm, professional and understanding. She tailored a series of lessons to shake the bad habits, build my skills and confidence and got me test ready in a short space of time. I would highly recommend anyone to Alison Leonard’s driving school.

Honestly can’t thank Jean enough, made me feel comfortable at all times and she really helped keep me calm whilst learning. If I could give more than 5 stars I would, the whole process was easy and explained to me at all times. I’ve had a course at another company and it didn’t come remotely close to Kent intensive. You’d be silly not to come here to get passed.

Learning with Jean was a pleasure. Every lesson I would come away feeling I had learnt so much. Even when challenged Jean made sure I remembered steps by using anecdotes.
