At Kent Intensive Driving School we pride ourselves on the quality of our intensive driving courses. Our courses are designed to help our students pass their test as quickly as possible whilst at the same time giving them the skills and confidence to continue driving safely on the roads once they have passed. We work with anyone from the complete beginner to those who are just looking to hone their skills before taking their test or regain their confidence having just failed a test.
Each set of lessons is tailored to the individual student depending on their strengths and weaknesses. If there is an area that you feel particularly uncomfortable with then just let us know! We understand that learning to drive can be a stressful time and our instructors have had years of practice of putting students at ease. We will let you know how you are progressing throughout your lessons and will be completely honest with you.
We have male and female instructors and are able to do manual and automatic lessons. If you have any specific requirements just mention them when speaking to us or on our contact or booking form.
Kent Intensive Driving School have a pass rate of around 70%, which is much higher than the national average of 47% (Car practical driving test operational statistics). Through our courses we feel that you will stand the best chance of passing your test. All courses include at least one mock test. As part of this mock test the instructor will go through the questions that will be asked at the start of your driving test (the show me/tell me questions). For more information on what is contained within the practical driving test please read our Practical Test page.

Assessment Lesson
Although it is possible to simply book a set of intensive lessons with us we do recommend that you have an Assessment Lesson. This allows us to give you an honest appraisal of your current driving ability and advise you as to how many hours we think you will need to prepare you for your test.
Each course is tailored to the individual student so it is impossible to say exactly what will be included. However the below can be used as a guide, showing what is likely to be covered in each course length.
10 Hour Course
This is usually done over 2-3 days and is suitable for students who have had previous driving experience and are just looking to brush up one a few things. We get many people doing this course who have had hourly lessons previously and are looking to now pass their test as quickly as possible or who have previously failed a test and are looking to quickly take another test. As part of this course a mock test will be done to make sure the student is completely ready for their test.
15 Hour Course
This is usually done over 3-4 days and again is suitable for students who have had previous driving experience. Students are likely to have hourly lessons and be looking to get themselves up to test standard or have driven previously but have had to take a break and are now looking to prepare themselves for their test. This course will include one or two mock tests depending on your preference and time permitting.
20 Hour Course
This is usually done over 4-5 days and is suitable for students who have had some previous driving experience, perhaps hourly lessons with another instructor (approximately 10 hours tuition). As part of this course most aspects of driving will be covered with the focus likely to be more on the manoeuvres involved in the test. Usually this course would include at least two mock tests.
25 Hour Course
This course is usually done over 5-6 days and is suitable for students who feel that they need to go through all aspects of driving even if they have had some previous lessons. Included in this course will be all areas of basic driving, with the focus being on building the confidence of the student. All manoeuvres will be covered and there will a number of mock tests to prepare the student for their driving test.
30 Hour Course
This course is usually done in 7 days and is designed for students that have very basic knowledge or the complete beginner who has good co-ordination skills and can learn new skills quickly with a good level of concentration. As part of this course the student will go through all the basic aspects of driving as well as moving onto the more advanced manoeuvres required. Nearer the end of the course a number of mock tests will be done to make sure that the student is ready for their test.
35 Hour Course
This length of course is for students who might take a little longer to pick things up, or more nervous students. As with the 30 hour course we will go through all the basic aspects of driving as well as moving onto the more advanced manoeuvres required. Nearer the end of the course a number of mock tests will be done to make sure that the student is ready for their test.
40 Hour Course
This is a bolt on for someone who would like to take a little more time and take off the pressure. The extra 5 hours can be used to allow more time for mock tests or practice anything that the student is not confident with or has been struggling with.
